Content received via the designated email is published through the web-based Content Management System within the same working day.

The Content Review Policy is prepared by nodal officers and is based on content element type, validity and relevance. The Web Information Manager performs a monthly syntax/grammar review for the entire website.

Content Archival Policy (CAP)
The Web Information Manager reviews entries under 'Tenders', 'Cabinet Decisions', 'Acts and Rules' and 'What's New' and archives content according to the following:

Website Security Policy
The Directorate uses secured servers and multiple measures to protect site integrity and private information in our possession. Security monitoring tools detect suspicious or unauthorized attempts to compromise systems. If evidence of criminal activity is found, relevant information may be provided to law enforcement.

We monitor the site periodically to identify and fix quality and compatibility issues across these parameters:

Contingency Management & Business Continuity Plan (BCP)
Contingency Plan — Overview
A contingency plan reduces the impact of defacement or natural calamities. Key elements considered:
- Risk assessment of likely vulnerabilities (defacement, floods, storms, fire etc.)
- Emergency response team with defined roles and team leader
- Communication plan using multiple channels (email, SMS, social media)
- Regular, secure data backups and tested recovery procedures
- Physical security and insurance coverage
- Training & drills; continuous review and updates
Business Continuity Plan (BCP) — Key Steps
- Business Impact Analysis (BIA): identify critical functions and impact of disruptions.
- Risk Assessment: evaluate and prioritize risks (natural & cyber).
- Recovery Objectives: define RTO (Recovery Time Objectives) and RPO (Recovery Point Objectives).
- Continuity Strategies: redundant systems, alternate suppliers, cloud & offsite backups.
- Emergency Response Plan: designated communication channels and escalation procedures.
- Data Backup & Recovery: implement, store offsite, and test backups.
- Incident Management: detection, reporting and response mechanisms.
- Testing & Training: regular drills and plan updates.
- Maintenance: periodic audits and updates to the BCP.
Defacement Response (As part of BCP)
- Detect & notify incident response team; capture evidence (screenshots, logs).
- Isolate affected systems to prevent spread.
- Restore from a known good backup predating the defacement.
- Patch vulnerabilities, update software/plugins, and strengthen security (WAF, auth).
- Perform penetration testing & validation before bringing services fully online.
- Communicate transparently to stakeholders and undertake reputation management if required.
Data Corruption & DR Procedures
- Identify and isolate corrupted data.
- Investigate cause and trace whether corruption originated at primary or DR site.
- Restore from clean backups and verify integrity.
- Synchronize and reconcile data between primary and DR.
- Engage data recovery specialists where needed.
- Validate, test, document corrective actions and update processes to prevent recurrence.
Natural Disasters — DR & DC Interconnection
Key considerations:
- Locate DR site geographically separate from primary data centre.
- Implement replication and backup strategies (asynchronous or cloud backups).
- Define failover procedures and regularly test failover & failback.
- Ensure continuous monitoring & periodic testing of both primary and DR sites.
